Never trust the Navigator

This piece was painted for the July Prompt at SVS Learn with the theme 'Summer Holiday Ruined'. It's homage to my dad, who used to drag us up every mountain for hikes when we were children. Thanks to him we got to see a lot of nature around Germany and Austria and got a fair bit of fresh air and adventure, although at the time we found it frustrating not to be able to lounge around the campsite lake all day.
In the nineties and early 2000s, the GPS wasn't that reliable yet, and we regularly walked on for a mile before my Dad would realize we had gone off the path and had no idea where we were. So, thanks Dad! I look back on those times fondly now and wish I could come along whenever you go on a hike.
